Virtual & Hybrid

Hands-on professional development that works in remote and blended formats.

Same philosophy, flexible format

Not every engagement requires an on-site visit. Our Virtual & Hybrid sessions deliver the same hands-on, active-participation philosophy in formats that work for distributed teams, tight schedules, and broader reach.

Formats we offer

  • Live virtual sessions — 90-minute to full-day interactive sessions via video conference, with breakout groups, collaborative activities, and real-time facilitation
  • Asynchronous modules — Self-paced learning modules with embedded activities, reflection prompts, and practical application tasks
  • Hybrid models — Combination of asynchronous preparation with live virtual or in-person sessions for deeper engagement
  • Virtual coaching — One-on-one or small-group coaching sessions for instructional leaders implementing new content areas

What makes our virtual PD different

Most virtual PD is a webinar with a Q&A. Ours isn’t. We design for active participation even in remote formats:

  • Breakout activities for groups of three or more participants
  • Collaborative digital workspaces where teams build artifacts in real time
  • Structured reflection and peer feedback cycles
  • Application tasks that connect directly to participants’ classrooms

When to choose virtual

Virtual & Hybrid formats are ideal when you need:

  • Broader reach — Train teachers across multiple buildings or regions without travel
  • Flexible scheduling — Fit PD into existing professional learning time
  • Follow-up support — Add virtual coaching or async modules after an on-site engagement
  • Budget efficiency — Access Freyja Labs expertise at a lower per-session cost

Example engagements

These exemplars are starting points, not fixed packages. Virtual and hybrid engagements are scoped against your audience size, the number of touchpoints, and how much asynchronous infrastructure you want left behind. The three sketches below illustrate the range we typically work across.

Tier 1 — Stand-alone live virtual session

A focused, single-touch session — useful as a test-drive or as targeted reinforcement.

  • Reach: 25–50 participants, 1 session
  • Investment: ~$5K–$7K
  • Duration: 90 minutes to 3 hours live, plus pre- and post-session work
  • Format example: 2-hour AI literacy primer; 90-minute computational thinking introduction

Planning (3–5 weeks out, ~9 hours of Freyja Labs team time)

  • Freyja Labs: scoping call, custom design, materials, tech rehearsal
  • Client lead: ~3 hours — needs definition, registration, internal promotion
  • Participants: 15-minute pre-survey or short pre-read

Execution (session day)

  • Freyja Labs: 1 lead facilitator plus 1 producer for breakout and chat support
  • Client lead: opening welcome, closing, troubleshooting
  • Participants: live session with breakout work in groups of three or more

Follow-up (1–2 weeks after, ~3 hours of Freyja Labs team time)

  • Freyja Labs: resource bundle, written summary
  • Client lead: ~1 hour — distribution and post-survey
  • Participants: 10-minute post-survey, optional reflection task

Deliverables

  • Recording (with permission) and chaptered notes
  • Session deck and breakout activity packet
  • Curated resource bundle (3–5 artifacts)
  • Pre/post short summary
  • 14-day follow-up Q&A window

Tier 2 — Four-session virtual series

A multi-touch cohort experience that builds practice across several weeks.

  • Reach: 30–60 participants, 4 sessions over 6–8 weeks
  • Investment: ~$24K–$36K (within the $5K–$15K per-session band, plus design)
  • Duration: 4 × 2-hour live sessions with between-session asynchronous tasks
  • Format example: 4-week classroom AI series; computational thinking practicum

Planning (6–8 weeks out, ~45 hours of Freyja Labs team time)

  • Freyja Labs: multi-session arc design, async platform setup, materials production
  • Client lead: ~8 hours — needs interviews, registration, communications cadence
  • Cohort coordinators (1–2 per district or region): ~4 hours each — facilitate breakouts, monitor between-session work

Execution (weeks 1–8)

  • Freyja Labs: 2 facilitators across 4 × 2-hour sessions, plus async monitoring (~2 hours/week)
  • Cohort coordinators: present in each session, conduct between-session check-ins
  • Participants: 4 live sessions plus ~1 hour/week of between-session work

Follow-up (2–3 weeks after, ~8 hours of Freyja Labs team time)

  • Freyja Labs: outcomes summary, resource handoff, optional capstone share-out
  • Client lead: ~2 hours — review and post-survey
  • Participants: 15-minute post-survey, capstone artifact submission

Deliverables

  • Series curriculum (4 sessions plus async tasks)
  • Asynchronous platform with discussion prompts and resources
  • Capstone artifact framework
  • Pre/post outcomes summary
  • 30-day post-series Q&A window

Tier 3 — Hybrid async and live coaching cohort

A larger-scale, infrastructure-leaving engagement combining self-paced modules, live coaching, and an optional in-person capstone.

  • Reach: 50–100 participants, async modules plus 3–4 live coaching sessions
  • Investment: ~$36K–$56K total across the multi-session, multi-format build
  • Duration: 8 weeks of async modules plus live coaching, optional 1-day in-person capstone
  • Format example: Async classroom AI library with cohort coaching; STEM integration cohort across a region

Planning (8–10 weeks out, ~65 hours of Freyja Labs team time)

  • Freyja Labs: async module production (video, activities, assessments), live session design, capstone planning
  • Client lead: ~12 hours — primary partnership liaison
  • Building or regional coordinators (3–6): ~4 hours each — recruit, support, monitor

Execution (weeks 1–8)

  • Freyja Labs: 2 designers monitoring async work (~3 hours/week), 2 facilitators for each live coaching session, optional 2 facilitators for the capstone day
  • Coordinators: weekly check-ins with their local cohorts, troubleshoot async access
  • Participants: 4–6 hours/week on async work plus 3 live sessions, optional capstone day

Follow-up (3–4 weeks after, ~11 hours of Freyja Labs team time)

  • Freyja Labs: completion report, asset handoff, optional Train-the-Trainer continuity proposal
  • Client lead: ~4 hours — review and sustainability planning
  • Coordinators: ~2 hours each — local rollout planning

Deliverables

  • Async module library (5–8 modules, 30–60 minutes each)
  • 3 recorded live coaching sessions with notes
  • Capstone artifact framework
  • LMS-ready content packages (SCORM or equivalent on request)
  • Completion and outcomes report
  • 60-day post-cohort Q&A window
  • Optional handoff path to internal facilitators for repeat delivery
